Keeping that flame alive

Holy Holy Holy

This isn’t what I planned on writing about today but it has been on my heart lately.

Revelation 4:8
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”

Why do the creatures never stop saying holy holy holy. They continuously say it day and night. Right now if we could get a glimpse of the throne room of God we would here them saying holy holy holy. I don’t get why as Christians we get bored with church and bored with God. Why is it that the living creatures aren’t bored with what they are doing? Apparently they have a better revelation of God and are having an huge encounter with Him constantly. I wish I could see what they see and know what they know about God. We need to start seeking an encounter and a fresh revelation of God. If we did church would not be boring anymore and living a Christian life would be exciting. We have to realize that we really don’t know much about God and we are blind. I heard Corey Russell state it like this once: “In the book of Revelations God condemns the church at Laodicea because they did not realize that they were blind. He didn’t condemn them because they were blind”

What should we do then? Well the first step is admitting that we are blind and we really don’t know who God is. The we have to take God out of the box we have Him in. We have so many false ideas about God and who He is. Then we just have to seek an encounter with Him and get a better understanding of who He is. I want a glimpse of who God is. What are His qualities? What does He like? Start seeking Him and asking those questions and believe me your life as a Christian will never be the same.

Good points. I think the first step to finding out more about God is reading the Old Testament. I believe that’s the main reason we have access to it today. We can see who God is based on how he interacted with his people at that time, the physical nation of Israel.
