I have been reading a lot on grace lately. I came across this post about Jay Bakker’s ministry. The main message of Jay’s ministry is grace. Unfortunately that is pretty much his only message. I like the grace message but I believe that there has to be a line drawn. I want to hear my readers views on this subject so I am going to to a weekday survey.
What is your stance on the grace message? Where is the line drawn and how can we effectively combine it with the repentance message?
Whats my answer? You will find out later on when I do a post on it.

Thanks for the pingback. We are blessed to have a gracious God.
I love this verse:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.
It is important that we spend as much time in His presence so that we might mature in His word. Thos of us who love God want to be obedient to Him because we love Him and want Him glorified in our lives. Repentance is crucial to salvation. To repent means to turn from. If we do not turn from our sin, how can we abide in Christ?

Comment by hailsky March 27, 2007 @ 10:40 pmGreat question. I actually read “more fire’s” blog a lot and tend to agree with a lot of what he seems to think on the subject. A while back, I wrote a post on my own blog titled “Grace vs Law,” if you’re interested in reading it.
Basically, I believe that God saves us through grace in that we don’t deserve salvation at all, and that he covers things that we may do out of ignorance or momentary weakness, but I still believe that he requires things of us too. There are just too many passages that make that point.
